The Sprague Award – named for Charles Cameron Sprague, M.D., the first President of UT Southwestern Medical Center and former President of Southwestern Medical Foundation – is our highest community distinction.
It was created in 1991 to recognize those who have provided significant support to advance health care through contributions of time, leadership, and resources.
Behind every great city are leaders who saw a need in their community and stepped forward to address that need.
The Sprague Award honors these distinguished philanthropists, business leaders, and innovators who rose to meet the challenges they saw in a developing community and took the action needed to make a difference. The stories of these leaders are forever woven into the fabric of our city’s history and continue to shape the future of Dallas and beyond.
